Thorough Clean

Featured Replies

Cleaned the Fabia inside and out today. Took me a grand total of 10 hours, don't think this car has ever been clayed before! I was determined to get rid of any swirl marks, safe to say they are gone

Started off with a Wash using warm Meguiars NXT Shampoo to get any surface crap off. Next I used Autoglym Clay detailing kit as I could not be bothered to drive to Halfords and the local motor factor does not stock Meguiars. If I'm being honest I actually prefer it to the Meguiars clay and the rapid detailer by Autoglym is great.

Once clayed using the rapid detailer as a lubricant I added a layer of Super Resin Polish (I don't normally use this but it came with the clay so I gave it a whirl). Two coats of Meguiars NXT Wax and here we are.

For the wheels I used Autoglym Custom Wheel Spray for polished wheels and then added a coat of Meguiars NXT wax.

Any comments/advice welcome. (And yes I do know the car needs lowering BADLY!)

PS - Anyone in the Lancashire/Greater Manchester area keep a look out, would be nice to be spotted once in a while ;)

Love the threatening sky, good picture, wheels look B) too, still not convinced about Furby vrs m2 ,i was admiring one like yours at petrol station today

Is that the top of Parbold Hill?

Cracking place for a photo if it is.

I'm in the Wigan area with a Silver furby vRS. I keep waving to other vRS drivers but none have yet waved back.

Nice cleaning job, I think I'll get some of that stuff.

Cheers.

Thanks, been looking at the Fabia VRS mk2 and I'm also not convinced. Going to spend some more money on this before I think about a new car, but an FL Ocvtavia Mk2 vRS keeps staring at me in the Skoda garage!

Yeah its at the top of Parbold hill, I only live around the corner, I'll keep an eye out in Wigan. If you buy the Meguiars you can buy a kit which comes with the wash mitt, applicator pad and microfibre cloth for about £35

Looks mint mate. Hope you garaged it over last night if you had rain like we did down here ! :)

Lowering will transform the car mate, visually and handling. I need to sort out my cleaning materials, still need to locate a decent drying cloth/mit.

Looking good, wheels will look better once the car is lowered! :D

good pics alloys look good

Thanks for comments, as soon as I get some spare cash I will get some coilovers, fit my brakes and a RARB. Should be around Julyish maybe a bit earlier, I'll post some pics when on! ;)

National - Your nasty :'( :giggle:

Looking good, Great shine for silver, nice & smooth looking!

All by hand? or did you have any POWWWWWEEEEERRR assistance?

I ask because I wanna clay my car but don't have a buffer to polish it up afterwards so will be by hand!

Unfortunately all by hand. I'm looking to get a dual action polisher, my dad keeps saying he is going to buy one so I'm kind of waiting for him to instead!

This is what I used;
