Electric Cars: Maybe I could get used to them

Featured Replies

Well if they are like this thing I saw on Jay leno's site anyway! Boy it's hideous but it does not half go! Wouldn't mind one myself and what fun in the city: Check out the TANGO ELECTRIC.

The Tesla would be the one for me but a bit short on range.

When you can get an electric car that can cruise at 70ish mph for 500 miles, and then be refuelled in 10 minutes (includes time to pay)...

Yep. You hit the nail on the head.

Ditto I agree but something with twice the torque of a Viper in something little bigger than a G whiz has got to be fun. I don't see Nissan's Leaf having many takers except the trendy Islington set types in London.

I work for Nissan in the plant where the Leaf is going to be manufactured, it will be on sale in the UK, Holland, Portugal and the US to start.

Prices are in my opinion very high, almost £29k, however with Government incentives, etc it will come down to approximately £23k.

It will be able to travel comfortably at 70mph but the range is relatively poor at the moment, 100 miles IIRC but only needs a short time to recharge, 15 minutes!

Orders will be taken in the Autumn with it going on sale next year!

Personally I hope it takes off, obviously for the sake of our jobs! My head however agrees with Matt...

Black Current :giggle: Fast on a drag strip, yes but I think the range is about 1/2mile :S
