In addition to the ProClip and holder I see they offer a "Move It" device. It appears that this fixes in between the ProClip and the holder enabling easy removal. Another 11 quid though:doh:

The arkon and other mounts look plain nasty IMHO.

Got to ask but what is wrong with the standard TT glass mount? Thieves still regard ANY mount as an invite to break the window and get the thing out of the glovebox.........

Also what is the need to have a mobile phone mounted on the dash? If you are using a (legal) handsfree BT kit you shouldn't need to even see the phone? My iPhone lives in the cupholder and I never even touch it!

Well you try getting one of these beasties to slip or slide around compared to the p*ss poor TomTom mount, you find that it's virtually impossible, if not impossible.

I suppose you're right about putting the phone on the dash, it's just I like to have things secure, in case some muppet causes me to brake hard & send everything goes flying. emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Dynolicious ;)

I personally don't like the windscreen mounts. If it's mounted where I can reach it (for example to acknowledge a traffic diversion etc.) then it obscures my view of the road to some degree and if it's mounted out of the way then I can't easliy reach the sat nav to acknowledge the warnings...

So you can power the phone and see who's ringing and decide whether to reject it or not if you are using a bluetooth earpiece or similar... Better than looking down at the footwell or potentially answering the phone to someone you'd rather not...

Or maybe so you can select the music that's being streamed to the stereo rather than just relying on forward and back a track...

Dynolicious ;)

How accurate is that? At £7.49 it might be worth a punt if it's any good

It's accurate enough as long as you set it up properly.

I use it more for fun than accuracy but i found it give me 2bhp and 6lb/ft less than JKM rollers. So it's even more Stingy i mean accurate

EDIT: Cartrack is another one that does the same thing

I have my TomTom iPhone mount on a Brodit ProClip with the MoveIt option so I can take it out of the car easily.

My TTG is mounted on the windscreen over the drivers side vent, it doesn't obscure the windscreen at all, no chance of it obscuring my vision, unlike loads of muppets who put it slap bang in the middle of the windscreen below the rear view mirror! (Pet hate of mine).

With the 'Brodit Move It' system, once removed does it leave just the Proclip and one half of the Move it in place ? In other words, the cradle and half the ' Move It' are removed.

That's correct, it's designed so that you can easily change what device specific mount is attached to the clip

Looks like I need to spend another tenner then! - over 50 quid in total for a bracket, Move It system & cradle :o

Better be good.

Like I said - Expensive, in fact I'd say it was exceptionally overpriced for what it is.

I thought you wanted to remove everything from the car... If so, why are you looking at the move it system?

Yes, I'm aware I'm easily confused emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Welcome to the club!

I do but following my research online, the consensus of opinions appear to point to the fact that the Proclip is not really designed for easy removal - if that's the case then the 'Move It' appears to be the next best option - at least it allows cradle removal. All depends how easily the Proclip removes - think it was Evening Star who said it was a struggle ?

Yep! I mentioned in on a post a considerable time ago in a similar thread.

You really need a trim removal tool(s) for really easy fitment, then when you come to either sell the car or change the phone/satnave you have to change/remove the kit.

Be warned the removal of the kit can leave indentations in the trim!

Personally, they're more trouble than they're worth.

Took me all of a few seconds to remove mine when I took the dash apart last weekend to hide cables behind it...

Edit: My clip has been in the car since 2 days after I got it in January, there were no identations in the trim, nor was there in the Saab that has a proclip attached for 2 years before removal of the clip...

Also, the proclip comes with a piece of plastic that acts as the trim removal tool mentioned by Evening Star

When my arrives I'll 'suck it n'see' and hopefully won't need the Move It. Was your dash completely 100% unmarked as well once you had removed the Proclip?

That plus ease of removal are my main concerns.

Mine is and i have removed and replaced mine at least 5 times for one reason or another

In fact you should be able to see in this pic that my dash is still mark free

Blimey, that Proclip must have wanted some removing to have pulled off the centre air vent trim & Columbus surround and they say it only clicks into place :giggle:

Yup they do grip like hell and it still only took 10 secs to do it

Not the best place for a Sat Nav though as it doesn't get a clear view of the sky as when it's at the top of the dash... And you'd have to take your eyes further away from the view of the road if you need to look at the screen for any reason...

I have just seen where you have your phone cradle, and can see that you have the Phone buttons on your wheel.

Does any informaiton come up on the stereo when people are calling.

I was thinking about not putting a cradle in the new car, and using the charger in the armrest ( I think I saw one there)

If not, then I already have a brodit cradle so I will just buy a replacemnet bracket and get the dealer to install it when the car arrives.

Also, is there a reason you have put yours so low?
