Did a 2 day trip to Scotland - Thurs / Fri this week

As usual there are the 3 to 4 roadwork sections down to 2 lanes etc on the M6 in Cumbria

BUT not 1 single Average Speed Camera - WTF is going on ? :wonder:

Or I didn't see a single White Van Camera normally seen on some of the many bridges etc.

It was great, but puzzling

so anyone know why not ?

No Idea but it does my head in!

At the begining of the week I travelled to Newton Abbot without traffic calming interferance but by mid week I'd encountered it yet again on the M6 north bound to Penrith and then to add insult to injury had to go to Darlington which basically meant 75% of my journey was spent doing less than 50mph between M6 &A1 etc

Understand they are working on some parts of it but you tell the customer when your late! Moan moan moan....

They do sometmes but them on for long term works, however, generally the trafic volumes on this section are quite light so it does not really suffer from dropping to 2 (normaly full size) lanes. Up until quite recently they did not even bother with a 50mph limit in gerneral.

Once went through 7 sets or roadworks between Carlisle and Preston.....crazy

Coming back form Europe last summer saw one set in France and one set around the M25, one at the M40 and 5 sets on the M6 in Cumbria....madness.

Oh and on the average camera point there were some a little while back while the did some central reservation work between Carlisle and Penrith.

They're not roadworks, the Department of Transport needs storage space for all their cones and are using the M6 in Lancashire and Cumbria

It is annoying though, I've driven to Scotland and back the last 4 weeks...
