REAR FOG LIGHTS FOR THE CONTINENT

Featured Replies

I have a Superb Estate SE on order (can't wait to actually get it) :) . Anyway, i will be using it in Germany and was wondering if anyone knows if it comes with one or two rear fogs?

I have been told that as long as the front headlights are changed to continental LHD lights, then the car will meet the German lighting requirements which I presume mean that the fogs are german legal. I pick my Tax Free combi elegance up in early July and will be taking it straight to Germany for use there, I will be ****ed if it then fails and I need to splash out even more on it!

That is good to hear. I wasn't sure if they were like the octy one which i'm led to beleive is only active on one side. I hope not

I thought it only worked on one side, so I'd specifically mention it to the dealer that both must work.

Would be nice if tourist mode flipped which fog came on along with flatting the front lights if only one was one at the rear, but that would be too easy.

If it does only have it on one side I'll have to get them to swap it when i collect it. I hope its just a case of activating it and not having to mess with the wiring.

On the Octy II it was a case of dealer computer or VCDS to turn on left, right or both.

Hopefully both are already on, although i haven't had it confirmed from anyone yet.

My Hatch only lights the one side (drivers side).

Hi Fatbadge (28, 32 or35??!),

I have a Superb Elegance over here in Germany, it's awesome on the autobahns

I can confirm that the fog lights are BFG legal but you will need to buy German spec headlights as the tourist function doesn't dip them enough to pass the light checks. The headlights cost around € 1100 tax free!! :'(

Happy motoring mate B)
