Cost of secondary air pump for mk1 VRS

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My secondary air pump is noisy, I've replaced the rivets with bolts as 5 of the 6 rivets had failed but pump is still noisy!

I suspect bearing on the motor is to blame. Does anyone have advice on what the cheapest way of getting a replacement would be, I understand a new one would be itro £350?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

if not pm bertee he had a nearly new one

think he wants £50 + postage

I got Quoted £221 just for the pump :o easier to take it all out but I think it still brings up the Engine Management light.. Not 100% sure though

You can use a resistor on the connection for the SAI and rip everything out but you might get the error.

I've been running like it for a few weeks now and I haven't had one yet but now I have said that....

You can get the error code mapped out, if your car is remapped already. But you can't remove it from the standard map.

any way of stopping the pump working without removal or remapping without error codes?

Thanks for the updates all, would rather replace if possible as I have no way of clearing engine management light myself :( .

Would rather not pay for a new one though, does anyone know any scrapyards in the Nottingham area it might be worth looking at?

Regards.
