As the vRS was in for its 50k service today I asked if the garage could fit the Phillips Blue Vision high-beam and sidelight bulbs as they'd been sitting around for a while and I hadn't gotten around to doing it myself.

When buying I checked and re-checked the fitments as I have factory-fit xenons but the garage said the fitment of the sidelamps was different to the ones I'd supplied and thus weren't fitted. The box and all sources say they're a standard 5W5 501 fitting but the garage said they were RB501.

It is the same bulb, if you have Xenon or Halogen Headlights.

a '501' bulb is a capless bulb regardless of whatever letters or numbers are put in front. so i dont see why they never fitted them as you have the right bulbs,

Fitted them myself this morning no problems at all! Even got away with minimal cuts on my hands.

Damn garages, at least didn't pay for anything extra.
