Police Camera Action ! Program on TV this week stated any blue light either at front or rear or underneath is illegal. The police said that only white light on the front and red at rear are legal ( apart from indicators or reversing lights ).

Had a chat about something similar but it was those LED valve dust covers for your tires. Apparently they are completely illegal to use on the road unless they were white, and non flashing. Even then you'd get stopped from old bill constantly with them. However they are not illegal on a push bike, rather recommended because you can seen seen better!

Accordingly, a steady blue light under 5W rating is not actually illegal. :(
