Remap Decided :)

Featured Replies

After some careful consideration and some sound advice from Ben I have decided to take my new vRS all the way down to Shark Performance for my remap :)

Thanks for dealing with all my questions Ben and I can't wait to see the difference :D

might be worthwhile going for the box of tricks that Ben can update remotely Like Robclubbey has. :D

Not on a 2010 vRS CR

Good man. You won't be disappointed

bear in mind, in the future when/if the STS handset becomes compatable with you ecu you will be able to buy it after and get the map loaded on. thats how i did it.

Mine is a TSI :)

inthat case get the sts i rckon. much easier for WHEN you go stage 2

I think even on the TSI (latest model) there is a risk that the ECU is protected so that STS and Blufin are not compatible - yet...

That's correct. I attended the Scottish meet last month and there was a guy with a petrol Limited Edition Octy and his ECU was protected (admittedly, his engine was only a few weeks old as he'd managed to destroy the original...) but it does show that the protected ECU is not a diesel only affair

Yeah my ECU definately is protected, had it over to a local company to check - who incidently told me they could safley remap my car via the OBD port! However after considering what they told me and what Ben told me, I dont mind the 150 odd mile trip :D

Hmmm.... Blufin works fine on my 59reg TSI..... Must be a recent addition to 10reg cars?

A tad off-topic but has anyone heard from Ben recently? I dropped an email to him recently but I think he had headed off to Germany to track it around the Ring for a bit.

The latest ECU's have anti-tuning protection which means they have to be removed from the car to be mapped.

AFAIK they are only on 10 plate cars onwards.

I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago, and sent him a PM last but not had a reply yet, I know he's going to Le Man so maybe he's already left to get a good seat? or he's washing his car in preparation!

I'm around, just totally snowed under! I am trawling through emails and PMs and I will get back to everyone before I leave for LM on Wednesday night :)

Ben sent me an email today as he's back from his trip. Trying to sort out the STS for me as it appears my new Scout 1.8 has the ECU protected.

My PD has developed faults after its remap. The boost cuts in and out. I'm not sure if its to do with the map, the DPF or the PD engine. I hope the CR doesn't play up with the filter in place.

who was the remap with though??

Its P-Torque mate. They are a good tuner. I'm not getting any fault codes, it maybe a turbo fault?..
