differance between cr & pd ?

Featured Replies

Never driven a CR before but i've been in one and feel the PD is punchier (as already stated)

Whatever engine you choose, you'll be smiling away the 1st time you put the foot down...................then the remap comes and the constant thirst for more grunt ;):D:rofl::thumbup: lol

is these the mpg for a cr engine ?

No Mate thats a PD. I would imagine that if I owned a CR it would have averaged 47mpg in my ownership?? Rather than 44.

it would be higher than 47. more like 55.

it is a lot better on fuel.

No you're suggesting 11mpg better?

I am, it seems you drive sensibly a lot of the time and occasionally put your foot down. similar to how i am driving now compared to when i was driving my A3. I accelerated hard a lot in that and was getting an average of 36mpg.

seen this http://www.autotrade...s/vrs?logcode=p does this seem a bargin ? trying to find a vrs for £8500 with between 50&60k mileage is like trying to find rocking horse poo......... is 74k mileage, considered high mileage for a 07plate car ? would there be any problems or imending problems with a car with that mileage ? also what are the service intervals and what sort of prices do the dealers charge for the servives ? what are the stereos like are they mp3 and usb stick/ipod compatable? ta very muchley !

74K miles on an 07 car is a lot of miles, a car of that age should be around 40-50K. What you get though is a great car for the money, there is a reason that average mileage octys are still expensive and thats because they are sought after. As your budget is 8.5K you'll be looking at cars of about that mileage, having just one owner is a good sign of the car being reliable.

Stereo wise, if it has the stream mp3 and leccy rear windows you could either burn a disk of MP3's and play them in the headunit, or connect your mp3 player via the aux-in located in the armrest. 07 is the changeover year so the headunit may be the standard stream which could not handle mp3 disks and may or may not have had an aux-in socket.

I had a PD octy before my current PD superb, as I prefer the way the PD drives. Technically CR is an older technology that is easier to work with to meet EU engine emissions, PD is a newer technology but proved to expensive to adapt to upcoming EU emissions regulations.

Thats remarkable. I've not had the pleasure of owning the CR, but I will certainly consider one next time I look for a replacement vehicle. I'm hoping the BMW 330d or C 320cdi will be more refined and fuel efficient. I'll have to wait and see I guess.
