Considering getting a Roomster

Featured Replies

One of the longest 12 weeks of my life, but I just have to keep telling myself I made the right decision.

I had to wait 12 weeks for my Roomy back in July 2009.

Now, almost 12 months into ownership, I know I made the right decision

It is by some margin the best car I have ever owned.

3 years and 120k miles i can't find anything to complain about

comfortable on long runs, 52-55mpg at good motorway speeds, seems to eat driver side headlight bulbs lately (2 in 6 months), tows well (trailer full of scout camping kit and ruck sacks)

niggles, got a whinny gearbox (on its way out i think, oil level ok), weak console bushes starting to go loose and due replacement shortly

I also ordered the Roomster 105 cr tdi se but towards the end of June and agree the 12 week wait is painful.

I added cruise, heated seats , black roof bars , centre armrest and cornering fog lights.

Cannot wait to pick it up and trying not to think about it too much.

Good to hear about the mpg as my old car was only doing 28mpg and 31 on a run.

Now got a delivery date of the 10th September. Beginning to regret not getting cruise, but I was happy enough to pass on it when ordering, so shouldn't grumble now. Is it good form to post pics when i get it?

*edit* looks like the dealer jumped too soon, new getting it on the 15th.

Well, I picked up my new Roomster yesterday and there isn't much to say apart from it's exactly what I hoped it would be. Very, very happy. :) :) :)

Excellent news!

Fingers crossed mine will be built next week . It's been a long wait.

Let me know what you think about the engine when you get a chance.

The engine is reasonably quiet (about the same as my old 1.9 CDTI Zafira), plenty of high end power ( overtaking on the motorway going from 65-70 to 85-90 is effortless ) and it'll cruise between 70 and 80 with no problem.

The only issue is 1st gear seems pretty long so my habit of pulling away from the lights in 2nd needs to change.

Overall, it's better to drive than my old Zafira.

Many thanks for the update.

Now I cannot wait for mine to arrive!

Enjoy your new car!
