Satin Grey Color

Featured Replies

Hey my friends,

Can you confirm me that there are color differences between the 2007 Satin Grey and the 2010 Satin Grey?

To make myself clear, take a look of these pics below:

2007 Satin Grey

2010 Satin Grey

...funny, both colors have the same code 5T5T.

Thanks.

I suspect that it's the same colour. The light in those pictures is so different it is too difficult to make a fair comparison...

Think you will find that the first picture is the darker grey that VAG are doing again this year - called anthracite. The lighter grey is satin. Both are metallics. Skoda actually do a very good range of colours - there isn't a bad one amongst them. (There was a straight blue called dynamic blue that wasn't everyones cup of tea, but that's recently been dropped.)

@sparky2: Surely, those holes sounds trouble :( Btw, do you have any more pics with your whole car, to see the color better?

@Vectensian: Satin grey 2010 sure looks darker than the 2007, in my opinion

Satin Grey in varying light, throughout my footer. Though TBH I think it's more of a light blue than a grey per se. The Satin Grey on the 2010 Superb you linked to looks exactly the same.

I think you've just answered your own question...

@Niall: Nice car you got there m8. I can't believe is the same car in all pics in your footer :giggle:

@Sammycrap: Yep, both have the same code but maybe have different shade of grey/blue combination. Who knows? B)

Question: Did anyone saw, by mistake, a pre-FL and a FL satin grey Octavia next to each other to tell if both are the same color?

Thanks guys

I was in a dealer today buying an accessory and remembered this post. I couldn't remember the colour, but his comment was that if the code was the same, it would be exactly the same paint used originally. If they were put side by side and looked different now, then it would have to be down to some element of fade. Also I remember having a red Honda Prelude and a red Cavalier years ago - both were the same colour; same code - but used different names. Hope that helps.

As an aside, if you're in Romania as your location implies - lucky you. I think that's where all the beautiful women live - surprised you have time to think about cars :giggle:
