Carbonio induction kit + oem DV

Featured Replies

is the oem dv louder when venting through the carbonio induction kit ? i am thinking of fitting both but if the carbonio gives the car that extra grunt and accociated noise might just get that and use the change to buy the swmbo a mince pie for xmas

Uprated DV and then a panel filter and drill the airbox if you want more noise. Personally very dubious about Induction kits on turbo cars.... JMHO though.

The Carbonio will turn heads ;)

It's not loud in the cabin...panel filter might get equal results and be kinder perhaps. I've covered 20k withmy carbonio, still secure and no problems with MAF yet. Quick find me a giant redwood to hug.

Is it that MAF that make you dubious Jimmy?

Several yners have reported equal if not more std filtered cars maf failling than induction kitted ones. There are problems if over oiled...but it's the core MAf design where the failings begin to stem from stress fractures of airflow moving in two directions...

Panel Filter (Green) is certainly audible from in the cabin....but i don't have the stock DV...

As for from outside, i don't know & don't care :D

I'm with Jimmy on Induction Kits...overpriced for dubious gains IMHO

@ Col - I'm more concerned with the possible damage to the turbo compressor caused by particulates in the air bypassing the filter and being ingested into the turbo. It just stems from experiences of industrial turbo-compressors going bang big style due to damage caused by something as relatively simple as poor air filtration.

But it's the noise - chicks dig the noise! :D

Not much noise when your car's off the road Dave ;)

Np Jimmy,

Although if my aging k03 goes bang then it just means  followed by , raiding my ice cream tub of change :D. Assuming the best case scenario ;)

has anyone had any problems with green filters and MAF problems? The only thing that would cause problems is over oiling them, to behonest I'd probably buy another one after 10k miles only
