Hi I'm relatively new and have a few questions...

I have a fabia VRS 1.9 tdi 53 plate 93k

1) I use 5w40 Valvoline Duro blend oil, is that the correct oil? and should I do an oil and filter change in between main services?

2) now and again the engine light comes on the dash, what could that be?

3) now and again when idling it revs 1000rpm, a little high it sounds, what could that be?

4) where can i buy decent car seat covers?, waterproof ones preferably, those seats are so light in colour its difficult keeping them clean?

5) lastly, the aircon, does it need servicing or charging? the cold is sometimes not as chilly as i'd expect!!

1: If it says the oil is VW 505.01 spec yes, if not no. Oil MUST be 505.01 or severe top end damage will result.

2: Just about anything, have the car scanned for fault codes

3: Throttle pedal module, common fault. £90 for part 1/2 hour labour

5: Aircon will lose about 10 to 20% of it's gas each year. So yes aircon needs a service every 3 years.
