I currently have a Tunit tuning box on my Vrs, it has been on the tunit rolling road and put out 183bhp with 298lb/ft thats with a K&N pannel filter and pd160 intake. However im not sure if their rollers may be set up a little on the optimistic side. Would i feel a greater power gain if i had my car remaped by a proper company or would i not feel that much differene to justify spending over £300 for a remap?

I would be very surprised that a Tuning box would return such gains, so think optimism is the Key word here .... I have run various tuning box's from the well known manufacturers to the never heard of on various PD engined VW cars in the past & i can say that a Remap from a reputable source has always performed far far better ..

I had a digital tuning box before a remap and in my opinion the difference is night and day. The tuning box felt very on off like a switch and was very difficult to drive smoothly. The was a huge wack of smoke and power and then back to standard. My Remap is very progressive and feels so much stronger through the rev range.

My remap produces 170bhp and 295lbs and its much faster than my tuning box ever was. I would say 183 bhp is slightly hopeful to say the very least.

Having said that bang for buck a tuning box does the job just in a very crude way

There are several boxes that can alter boost as well. They are very effective and produce a lot less smoke.

I have a Dragon Box on mine and on setting 6 of 7 it gives the results shown in my sig.
