Noisy window !

Featured Replies

I recently swapped the crappy factory speakers in the front doors and a few week after swapping them a noise started when window is wound down, it makes a noise about 3/4 of the way down and same on its way back up. A friend has a passat and said his made the same noise then his window packed up completely! is there any prevention or something I could do before it breaks if that is the case? is it something that comes loose etc? I would rather sort it now and prevent further damage at a later date.

Any help or tips would be great cheers

regulator may be knackered or something is catching on the way down

I also get a noise 3/4 of the way down and up, found that talcum powder on the outside weather strip cured it.

If the noise occurred as soon as fitting the new speakers then I could guess either the speakers were being caught, or something had been dislodged during their fitting.

Suprise suprise it was a wire or connector that must have just been in the way of mechanism so pulled wire back out a bit and re fitted speakers and it has stopped doing the noise so all in all a result.
