TD engine swap and central locking queries

Featured Replies

Hi, Im being lazy here as I'm sure these will be things which are elsewhere on the forum. But if anyone can point me in the right direction to save some trawling it'd be dead handy! Anyone fitted a turbo diesel from a seat/Vw/Audi/other skoda into their Felicia? I'm thinking of doing it Is this relatively straightforward what pitfallsare there? Which engine am I after? I'm fairly happy to swap engines but what of ecu's, wiring looms etc? This would be my main stumbling block!

Also I have fitted some Central locking doors from my old felicia estate to my pick up, Is this a straightforwardish job to connecct these up? I guess wiring these in to the pick up will be a pain to fit the missing part of the loom?? Any help would be tops!

Felicia16v on here has used bits from a golf TDi to improve a diesel felly, I believe it's all bolt-on without needing to remove the engine, but he's the man to speak to about it.

As for the loom, it's possible that the wiring is in there - take out the kick panel in the pickup and see if there's a 10-way connector there that the doors should plug into - you may be in luck.

The connector will be somewhere on the left hand side of the centre console

For the C/L?

ref c/l: if you have used the door wiring looms from the central locking model it should be ok, you will need the central locking control unit too though, it's behind the centre console on the hatch/estate models
