My 1.8t Sounds Like A Tractor!! What's Up With It?!

If your car sounds like it is literally not running on all cylinders, the chances are it's a failed ignition coil pack. Unfortunately, it's a very common fault amongst the VAG 1.8T engines, but something which should now be less of a problem as the defective batch of coilpacks were superceded. It can still happen though. There was a time not ong ago when there was practically a worldwide shortage of coilpacks as Audis, VW's, Seat's and Skoda's had their's fail!

Symptoms include juddering, hesitation and a very lumpy tickover - you'll know it when it happens. Some order in spares (and have had reason to need them too!)
