Hi, i would be interested in some feedback if possible of those members who has had their oil service done. My question is, have any of you had an engine flush additive used prior to having the oil changed? If so, do any of you recomend having it done? And are there any issues with using the stuff wether there is a good brand or bad brand of additive? cheers for any replies.....regards......andy

If it's done from new do it, if not don't, VAG don't recommend it anyway, as for a flush, use any main dealer one, these are 100%, I use the VX one which is a Fortrun one, google it for evidence if you need to, I also used VX 5/30 oil, again I'm wrong, but this never gave any trouble in 100k, and it didn't burn through like the 507 oil in mine is now, 1.5 litres for 2k miles, great eh.

a short note about oil pump issues honest john recently answered a guy who had ptoblems he said that some dealers use the suction pump method of oil extraction and this leaves sludge in sump causes a blocked pick up oil should be empted via drain plug i never thought about this before and i am contacting my dealer to find what method they use as iown a 140 bss superb called by some a lemon

Hi newbe, i have a skoda superb 2.0 tdi bss engine with only 55,000 on it. In one year two c.v joints, rear park sensors, 1st and 2nd syncro hubs, turbo reconditioned, egr valve cleaned as it was completely blocked, inletmanifold cleaned and sump cleaned oh yeah and the cat failed on the flexi pipe, this is the worst car i have ever owned!!! Plus the dealers who are based in ellesmere port have fobbed me off for months and months telling me my car sounds ok, sold it to me with a one tears warranty only for it to be cancelled by the warranty company once they found out it is used for business, even tho i told the dealers what it is to be used for!! Sound like this engine has some serious issues!

If you change your oil at the recommended intervals or at least once a year it should not need to be flushed, If it ain't broke don't fix it.
