Milotec bumper grilles

Featured Replies

I've been looking into one of these 3-piece sets today, and have a few queries for those in the know.

The Milotec website lists 2 options. Bright stainless steel 3-piece set, or a galvanised/powdercoated black steel set. These need the mounts to be bonded into the bumper by the looks of things. ( http://milotec.de/index.php?cat=c277_Frontgrill---Frontspoiler.html&XTCsid=1318c5f285182fe0c0b801344f488ef5 )

Awesome only list ABS ones, in black and carbon look. Not sure if these clip in the same way as the standard items? ( http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/page.php?xPage=milotec.html )

Superskoda list both. Listing the ABS versions as "V1", and the steel versions as "V2". I think! ( http://www.superskoda.com/octavia-i/front-bumpers/ )

What's the dealio? Do all these grilles fit the vRS bumper? I'd like black plastic ones, that clip into the existing holes in the bumper. Is there such a thing?

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction! Cheers :)

You need this one.. from your first link.

Grill: galvanized steel, powder-coated, black (3-piece)

Easy assembly

Octavia I RS Sedan 5/01-

Octavia I RS Combi 8/02-

89,00 EUR incl. 19 % VAT

Product No.: 421/04

As long as the one you order is referring to part number 421/04 you are ok.

Do not get the one on Awsome showing part number 40206. That is for standard octy and not VRS.

Same on super skoda website link, for some reason thay are only quoting either a none VRS 3 piece set or a VRS 3 piece set with stainless and fog lights.

I ordered mine from super skoda before and it is defo part number 421/04 you need if you black plastic coated stainless.

Here is a pic of the grills when i first fitted them.

Here is another pic of my motor with the milotec grills after I changed the centre one when I fitted the FMIC .

Cheers for confirming that Bowders.

I was hoping there was a plastic option for the vRS, but it doesn't look like it.

How do the powdercoated steel ones hold up? Have you ever had to respray them due to rusty stone chips?

Don't suppose you have a photo handy to show them on your car? I know I like them, because they just look normal if you didn't know to look for the silver crossmember. They just make the car look a bit more mean, without loosing class. Cheers

Haha great minds!! Cheers buddy

Did your centre one fit right? As mine doesn't seem to want to lock in on both sides at the same time.

Mines fitted fine,no prob's.

My centre grill doesnt sit right @ the top , Bit off a pain in the back side .

Whats the front splitter and how easy was it to fit?

its a Seat Leon Cupra R mk1 splitter mate, they are easy to fit,

I found it better to remove the bumper.

have a search mate there is plenty on them.

The center grill is ment to be like that at the top unfortunatly. To get round it you need a No Plate surround. it just coers the small gap then

They are ok these grills but youll find they chip easily and once they are on you cant go back to std.

unless you use a small nut n bolt on them and drill through some how.

Yeah I won't be bothering with them.

If they were plastic and direct fit, then I'd want them.

The plastic honeycombe pattern is nice for grilles.

It's pretty lame that nobody makes them for the vRS.

I've had the metal ones fitted for 5 years - no issues at all and the centre on clipped in fine and has never moved!

My centre grill fits fine. You can adjust the height by carefully bending the metal lugs either up or down to tighten the fit and centralise grill.

Never had a problem with paint chipping on mine Billy. Certianly should not need to fit a reg plate cover to close the hole.

You can also go back to standard if you just remove the plastic brackets.

Maybe not a direct fit as you need to apply brackets, but very simple and much better than the standard ones IMO.

As above, the centre mesh fits correctly, had mine on 3 years,no chips, and if you want to refit originals, that is possible too.
