Featured Replies

Front lower suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated. (both sides)

Which bush is this? any one got a photo they could point it out to me? and is there a powerflex or superpro replacement that worth getting or just go OEM.

easy DIY job?

its not the arb as had that done not too long ago.

Thanks

is it the wishbone itself?

Probably the rear wishbone bush on the front.

hmm, so look like some investigating required over the weekend, :wonder:

It is probably the "front lower suspension arm rear bush" as these are the ones that are subjected to the most force(usually specified on the MOT failure report?). If you are going to DIY then I recommend you buy the full wishbone with new bushes already in, they also come with new ball joints(handy if you end up having to angle grind the old ones out :D). If you have access to a bush press a lot of people upgrade to the Audi TT ones. HTH

havnt got a bush press, but there a vice in the shed i could use, would that be up for the job?

yer was looking through past thread and that does seam to be the best option if that is the case.

I had unit 18 from here fit 2 new ones to mine, cost around £100 supply and fit, they can powerflex them for about the same amount. Mine were a pig to get off so was more that happy to pay them to do it

Having seen Mike do mine on my old Octy vRS, it would not be an easy job with just a vice, you really do need a press to make it easier.

hmm thats not good, with at checking it out yet and seeing the problewm I had been leaning towards new wisbones (which come with new bushs ive been told) and putting the Audi TT solid rear bush in as they last a bit longer.
