remapped vRS

as opposed to out of gear..? that would be embarrassing

Hence why I said to accelerate in gear. Glad you managed to understand the difference between in and out.

you don't think the advice to only accelerate whilst in gear was maybe a little...redundant? any more pearls of wisdom? what should I use my brakes for, reducing speed maybe?

Well considering the OP wanted to know about vrs 0-60 times I'd say advising he/she not to worry about 0-60 times and enjoy the 'in gear' acceleration the Fabia provides is relevant.

Next!

it's not what the OP was asking about so it's irrelevant. and somewhat patronising

I'll now return to accelerating whilst not in gear

You guys....

LOL.

Simple missunderstanding k? "In gear" as in rolling WOT and teh and other = standing start (which fabias are known for not being the best at.

Audi won le mans with diesel therefore diesels are the ultimate performance car.

Can we lock it up now?

No! :)

It didn't win because it was the fastest I think - it won because it had a nice compromise of economy and performance so could do more laps before having to stop and refuel then the petrol ones.

Winning is winning, it don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, who cares about why it won, the fastest 24 hour racers on the planet were there, the diesels won, in fact they dominated end of!!!!!!

Sure winning is winning but there is a difference in winning a 24 race and say a 2 hour race. Just because a diesel won a 24 race it doesn't make it the "ultimate performance car". Don't get me wrong - I love my diesel vRS, the effortless thrust from low revs, the way it comes in one big lump forcing your to work the box with finesse to proceed with pace, the economy - even learned to love the turbo lag (at times) but the fact remains that when we are talking race cars - the petrols are quicker.

you're wrong.

just to show how wrong you are, take a look at BTCC you'll see the diesels were kicking ass and they dont stop for fuel etc.

although it seems SEAT are no longer in it but certainly in the last few years they were winning.

You may get as far doing that as you've done arguing

And I was hardly talking in a condescending manner, unlike some of us here! :giggle:

there should be a list of recommendations for after remap use, like dont plant it under 2k or in 6th etc

remaps are so common now but i think people could be saving themselves a few quid if they knew how to treat the car with a bit mechanical sympthy.
