clutch smell

Featured Replies

When I stop at a set of lights, I get a strong smell of Clutch. But no smell on the move. Clutch doesnt seem to slip. Hard acceleration from low revs in both high and low gears seems fine, no revs jumping or anything, peedle seems ok and is going fully to floor.

Could be brake pads stickin to the disc, or handbrake not releasing rear brake pads, any work done on brakes recently?

Nothing really since I brought it in September. Mot yesturday, now handbrake feels harder to lift up and put on.

Perhaps the handbrake self-adjusted when the MOT tester yanked it all the way up as far as they could wit their super strength (as some of them tend to do).

I would say brakes rather than clutch.
