Black Alloys on Facelift VRS?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I currently run a Black 2008 VRS 2.0CR. I'm on the brink of ordering a facelift new one. I'm dabbling with the idea of getting an estate this time & I'm also thinking about a colour change. I've found these fairly official looking pictures online of a UK registered white VRS with black alloys, but I can't find any mention of black alloys in Skoda's literature. Does anyone have any idea whether black wheels on a facelift are an option? They look like official Skoda wheels, not aftermarkets....

I imagine they are Neptunes in sprayed black by the dealer. There are no options on wheel colour presently maybe the vRS+ options will arrive soon though and black wheels will be an option. Not so keen on larger cars with black wheels

Thanks for the info bud.

I think you're lookin g at about £200 to get them painted. Other people have had them done varying colours from Anthracite through to Black.

I think white cars with black wheels look like they are on bricks , mine are smoked chrome powder coated DSC00039.jpg

Ask the dealer how much they would charge to do them

Horton Skoda, my local dealer, had someone come in to spray them, but I have no idea of the cost

This one was also lowered on Eibach springs, with dark aftermarket rear tints, as it was the Director's plaything for a while !

This looks great on a blue colour. How did you manage to get them powder coated?

My Leon wheels were done in matt Black by the wheel specialist in Bham. Superb finish on the wheels too all for £240

You need to have a friendly word with Oliver then

how do you go about getting your wheels painted when youve already got the car? does it stay with them for a day or do they fit donor wheels for a day or two?

Cheapest way is to take the wheels only. Does mean you have to carry the car home though, and back again later :( . I left my car for the day, far easier.

sorry to say this but have never seen why people like black alloys on cars

they always look like they havent been cleaned for ages

now white alloys on black cars i can see, (even though they are a pig to keep clean)

i had a focus ST in black with white wheels and got told it looked ....mint mate ...

Nah i am not a fan of black wheels even on a black car they just dont look good to me, but everyone to their own.

Just an observation, the black wheels attached by the OP look like the LE wheel! I agree with the comments about black wheels to a certain degree (although the two 888 Vectras running in the BTCC look pretty spanking), I think the problem is unless you keep the tyre dressed, it will always look dirty compared to the wheel.

Anthracite would be my choice as it goes well with any body colour.

Have to agree with that.

Black is just too strong against white.

Anthracite is much more better looking.

White wheels on a black car is pure emoticon-0119-puke.gif

Disgusting emoticon-0149-no.gif

What about different finishes? e.g. glossy, matt, etc.

mine are "amost" black, its a dark graphite colour (bmw "sparkling graphite" if anyone's interested..). I also have the mirrors in the same colour, dark tint on the windows, eibachs.

Here's a pic from the weekend, just got back from the family hols. Sorry for crappy blackberry quality:

You leave car at 8.30 and it is ready at 5.30

Another variation on the dark but not black alloys theme - shadow chrome powder coated finish. I reckon these would look pretty good on a white car.

Thanks for the replies to my questions. just got to see if there are any decent wheel sprayers close to me.

I'm sure you know the answer to that dilema........
