Alternator Belt

We have three fabias in the family and when checking their fluids last week I noticed that two of them needed their alternator/waterpump belts changing as they were all cracked.

My daughter was working at the weekend and didn't want to wait so she went to a local garage on her half day and was charged £17 for the belt £25 for fitting and of course VAT on that.

I waited until Saturday and went to a skoda specialist (ex-dealer) in Wellingborough and was charged £20 plus VAT all in for exactly the same job - except my belt was a genuine VAG one

and my daughters was an unknown make.

She is now feeling very ripped off.
