Skoda goodwill?

Featured Replies

Hi guys got my car booked in at faintree Bridgnorth on Thursday to look at my centre locking fault which i previously posted up the other week I've done as much as I can checked fuses and voltages to my rear door locks can't here them making a noise so think it needs two new door locks but my question is my car is my car is only 3months out of the manufacturer warrenty would I able to get a goodwill on these door locks?

More likely to be control module than locks. Something common to both doors rather than two individual faulty components. As for goodwill, seems to be pot luck, depends how hard the dealer will push SUK.

Seems strange though, when I get someone to lock/unlock the car and I check the voltages in the connector going from the body to the door Im getting battery voltage but can't hear any noise at the door locks

Hi guys just to let you know had my car in at faintree skoda of Bridgnorth today to look at the centre locking fault. They think it's two faulty door lock too but at 80 quid a lock gonna try contacting skoda customer services for a goodwill claim

Yes i would it is not like you lock and unlock them all the time, say you will meet them half way, that usually does the trick. If you have always had it serviced there get them to ask SUK,

Never had it serviced there only some past warranty work as my local dealer went under last year

Yeah but if you've always had dealer-based servicing... Skoda will have some logs of that i'm guessing? Your service manual should show that at least. ;)

Depends how much warranty work you have already had done. Skoda in the past do appear to have a maximum set amount they are willing to part with for any one car and even when in warranty you may be unlucky as Dave (Sharkrider ) found out.

Well after alot of phone calls to skoda uk they won't honour it as it's wear and tear they say. So got a friends car tonight sent 3hrs swapping over door locks to find my fault still there but his still locks fine with my locks fitted to his car, so thinking it's a problem with coding or central convenience module now. What do you guys think?

Cheers tim
