Please note I don't want to pee on anyones chips hence the inclusion of the final option

Jon

I went with first option, because a trackday is not really for me (or for the car), but I'm still well up for watching the touring cars. Me thinks a trackday should be reserved for those who have cars with decent pace, like those 1.4 16V Octavias :D

I don't really mind, but the idea of a joint meet/trackday sounds good. We could camp over somewhere on the saturday and have the drive to the track on sunday and those wanting to go on track can. Others can park up and chat or go off for a drive in the country or something like that.

Whatever is finally decided upon though I will be up for.

My post #2 should now be ignored. I never realised the track day could be so conveniently located at Bruntingthorpe proving ground. I think the novice section will be for me, plus I know the roads out there very well, so could lead a slower group around that area??

Trackday or an informal meet will be more fun IMO. the thought of watching to see which astra wins in a massive crowd, queing to get in & out honestly makes me want to watch paint dry t

I was more enticed by the drive around the Welsh hills and valleys myself. It'd be a shame to miss that.

:drive1:

Hmm. Leic. & surrounding is not so good for a scenic drive, in fact its pretty dull - no real variation in the roads at all. How about a drive to Rutland water and a cycle ride around the perimeter? Its only nearly 30 miles around, thats all :D

Nick, true, Someones bothered to take the time to try & sort something for all of us so perhaps we should all go with it & maybe save ideas for next year, after all if we dont like it we dont have to go, I still fancy the "welsh drive & getting together" & I dont have to go for the TC's if I dont want too.

Its very easy to nit pick & criticise from a distance but Its a Damned site harder to try & organise something that will suit all.

Rutland, great idea for 2004

Anyone fancy a real drive, some Cannonball places still left, Men & Motors are coming + a few "ladies" from the Adult channel

Unfortunately I have a day job, a wife and no disposable car, Stuart

Fair points all, Jon and I have done a few days around Wales pulling in the finer more esoteric roads, not a plod or white helo timer line in sight.

This is all toe dipping as there simply put, ain't enough days in the year to enjoy yourself.

The welsh meet/run will happen it's too bloody good to miss for all cars, it' got some very good roads that provide a good "leveling" ground ;) All roads are a good challenge, most you don't even NEED to exceed it's NSL to pack a smile.

Well I'm certainly up for both. Was looking forward to the Welsh drive and would love to do another track day!
