Anyone know where the air recirculation flap is ?

Featured Replies

Another week another problem !

AC only works for 3 seconds on the move before shutting off all air coming from the vents.

VAGCOM tells me that V113 recirculation flap has a problem.

Does anyone happen to know where its located and is it a dash out job ?

Thanks..

Right behind the glovebox on LHD cars, i think its the same on RHD cars.

Sometimes the flap motor is just weird, take the connection of it when the car has ignition on and the clima is running, plug the connector in again, and delete the error codes.

Thanks, so if I just remove the lower dash trim from beneath the steering wheel on the RHD model......

I think its played up before, but its not exactly convenient for the air to shut off in the unusually warm british weather.

Duh, removed the lower dash and then thought that the flap may be near the pollen filter :-)

Removed the glovebox and found the flap, but with two connectors ?

The recirculation flap seems to work ok, but I did a little bit of investigation and since the outside temp was 25 degrees today, the fresh air gets

shut off when I set the climate below 18 degrees.

Is this correct ? seems to be since I've just been out and the LO setting works just fine now..... nice cold air blasting out, but its only 18 degrees

now.

So, when my recirculation flap closes, it doesn't really recirculate the air, it just shuts off the outside air and nothing comes out of the vents.

Can anybody help with what the connector closest to you does ?

Did you try re-setting it through VCDS first?

No, I didn't...... I'll give it a go however.

I tend to think that the problem is with the V113 motor. Looked up the climate control system and it appears that the two connectors I

see are:

V71 - Outside air control flap.

V113 - Recirculation control flap.

Disconnecting the plug to V113 makes no difference either way..

Disconnecting the plug to V71 does however, so this is working fine.

I figure that in recirculation mode, V71 is closed and V113 is opened to draw air in from the cabin, but with both flaps shut, there is no

air from the blower to draw from, hence no air.

I guess it must be a feature of the climate control that if the outside temperature is above 23 degrees or so and you want the cabin cooled to

17 degrees or lower, then V71 is closed..... my problem is that V113 won't open.... :-(

Well, removed the control motors at lunchtime and had a look.

Both motors worked fine.... both flap move ok, so no problems there.

Maybe just me, but seemed a complete pain to refit until I figured out the best process.... by doing that I think that there may have been problems

with the cold air/recirculation motors and the unit wasn't refitted correctly.

No new parts required (so far) and all seems to be ok with the system now.

I seem to recall that the recirculation system not being very good last year when I got the car.....

Hi my octovia 2.0 dash vent (windscreen air outlet) is blocked. So in raining weather i cant drive as windscreen steams.

I just noticed one of the small piece of middle outlet (near emergency button) is broken. I think it's gone down and blocked the air hose for windscreen.

When i press the button for windscreen the air just blowing from the two side outlets ( near door windows) no button makes the air going to windscreen.

Any idea please. Thanks
