Changing sidelights on a VRS

Featured Replies

Hey,

No I dont know if I'm being stupid but it seemed logical at the time.

I have changed sidelights on numerous cars so I thought this would be a doddle.

After about 20mins of twisting the bulb holder (Like all other cars I have owned) I gave up, Then, relentlessly, fingers killing (Due to lack of space) and blacker than my tyres I gave the holder a good pull in desparation, wooooo, it came off.

So a tip for anyone wanting to change sidelights, they arent twisty ones, just give em a goold 'ol yank!

Hopefully this can save someone a little bit of time :)

+1... :giggle:

I've only change one side light, strangely it was the passenger (N/S) one aswell. The only tip I've got is use a pair of long nosed pliers to remove them. Also remember the bulbs only go in one of the 2 ways, the holder looks like a cross. I tried the other way, the new bulb flicked out of my fingers and went behind the battery, never to be seen again.

Or take cover off, hand down, twist bulb holder, remove holder, swap bulbs, reach down, push and twist.

Main bulb went last night in the passenger side strangley enough!
