VAGfest 11th July 2010 @ Santapod - Jason's First "13"

Featured Replies

I was wondering if any one on here might be going to this event.

I am but only if its dry!!!

I am going with VAGowners. If you want to come and be on a clubstand, join up and express interest in coming and sticking your car on the stand.

I WILL be getting my first 13 seconds pass...... [famous last words]

Short track then Jason ? ;)

It's actually the same length :p but it is more uphill.

I am relying on better grip off the line, then the same grunt as before. Also going to be going a little more to town with the weight loss and swapping the wheels on the back for my spare steels. :giggle:

I might be there, but not sure at this point in time.

I will be pulling out though if it looks like steady rain on the day! The last thing I want is to drive 200+ miles there, pay £15 to get in, and be unable to run drag runs at all! Would be a total waste.

I totally agree with you! Should be a good day there, fingers crossed for good weather. Good luck on the strip though.

I will make sure i watch at least 1 run from you.

i possibly mite be turning up at this event so if any of you need another car for stands exectra im always willing lol

Tom. will be there, with his new found power mate, he is going for sub 13.5's.....

Thought his car was having issues? :)

Thought his car was having issues? :)

Gear selector fork 3rd/4th went a few days after he got his water meth mapped on to 245bhp and 410lb.ft, he says it was a damn site faster with it on, esp top end (helpful for the 1/4 mile)

TBF, if that is the case and its not a placebo, it will rape my time, with ease, as he wont have to change into 5th like me, meaning his car will be alot faster than mine!

His car is all fixed, brand new selector fork, brand new helix clutch and now has a diff, and he ran 13.8 with 230bhp/370lb.ft and no diff!

yeah i will be up with a few mates, displayin on midsdubclub stand i fink!

For people's info, there is plenty of space available on the vagowners stand for this show due to a few dropping out, so if you fancy coming, anyone can join the clubstand. :)

me and my friend are going is there any room for a octy vrs and leon mk2

Yeah - Just say you're with vagowners. :) We will expect the odd unknown car to show up - All part of the fun :D

Two questions :-

i) Did Jason go ?

ii) Did he go under 14 seconds ?

Thats one quick fabia!

Excellent terminal speed at the end of the 1/4 mile too!! :o

Was happy with 13.7, but shocked by the 105mph closing speed.... A couple of years ago that used to be "must wear a crash helmet" speed  but now its 120mph thankfully. A terminal speed I am unlikely to break without 4wd and about 400bhp :D

Nice 1. Great result.

Good stuff Jason..

Was good to see a handful of fabias there..

I've since found out that my intercooler has a nice hole in it, plastic cowling has rubbed through it :(

Was a good event! My pics from the day can be seen here...

Cheers 4 the photo of my octy mate (silver mk 1vrs) I parked at wot i thought was the end of the show n shine there sayin i was goin for RWYB (just so i had some hardstanding for my baby girl and convenience :giggle: ) only to find half hour later when returning i was now in the middle of the show n shine field  . amused me a little!

was a quiet show but wud of def got ur moneys worth if u were sprintin, turn around time seemed to be bout 25 mins! some great times from Jason too and the other fabs were certainly holdin thier own!

wish id taken my slicks now!

I only did 8 runs early on! 25 minutes turnaround is way off the mark. A couple of times I literally drove up and waited about 30 seconds before getting on again. Great for keeping heat in the tyres! B)
