Door Pillar fun and games

Featured Replies

What a couple of days !, had Friday off work so managed to call into the local sign shop and pick up some semi-mat vinyl with the intention of covering the door pillars. Cut an oversize piece and managed to get it on the passangers side front door ok without too many bubbles trimmed to fit around and tuck under the rubber seal, but couldn't get it to sit properly :( :'( , so tore it off and started again.

Take two, three and four all followed with similar problems, 3 hours of frustration later I gave it up and had a break, came back to the job later and did what I should have done at the start....make some templates !, once I'd done this I used them to cut the vinyl and this morning put them on without any problems yay ! :)

Great job mate.

Looks better, I never knew they were colour coded in the first place! - What with owning a black car!

Yeh I like it - looks good.

Nice touch. Took me a while to figure out what you'd done. I had a ten minuite game of spot the difference. :giggle:

Mine were already done on my red one when i picked it up which is nice! In the second pic i thought that bin thing was a sunroof!haha

LOL, either that or a giant roof spoiler

Thanks for the comments guys.

Alan

I like it  especially along with the wheels and the black door handles. The wife officially has no taste :giggle: (or was just not happy with you spending hours doing it, ).

Out of interest, did the front bumper spoiler come as standard? and if it didn't, where did you get it?

Thanks Wagdog, have to admit I'm enjoying messing with it !, fingers crossed lowering will be later in the year, thinking of springs only, need to find out how much it will cost to get some fitted.

It's a standard front bumper on my vRS but with a Seat Splitter fitted on the bottom, common mod on here and one I think works really well.

Thanks again for all your comments guys

Alan.

Yeh they look good, I did mine a few weeks back but I got them from the dealer.

Regards Chris

What about wing mirrors as well? Or would that be overkill?

I'm really liking the look, it's awesome! Certainly got me thinking ;)

i have a set of Spax springs that take it down 35 - 40mm doing nothing in my shed...
