Fabia TDI pd100 Upgrades?

Featured Replies

hi there, first of all im new to all this, so be easy :)

im planning on buying my friends fabia, pd100 but with remap to 135bhp and 16" audi a3 wheels fitted

i was wondering, what would be the next step to gain some more power from this beast? its already pretty nippy, but im getting bored of the power already, and i dont even own the car yet

i was thinking, before any more power upgrades of fitting a stronger gearbox + clutch, would the one from a vrs fit straight to the car no problems? i know this would also convert from 5spd to 6spd, but does the box fit straight to the pd100 engine?

thanks guys :) more questions soon :)

5 speed box is very strong and no need to uprate. Clutch yes though!

You need to uprate the mechanicals of the engine for more power - bigger turbo, fuel injectors to start. Then think about exhaust work, front mount intercooler, intake pipework, etc etc.

Mine is a PD100 you know. ;)

oh, forgot to mention, its been de-catted aswell

ill leave the box in then :) but the vrs clutch fits, yes? or am i mistaken?

and i thought about getting a bigger turbo and inlet manifold off either a vrs or a pd160 (if it would fit), as the original turbo went "iffy" for a while and caused the car to go into limp mode, this was after the remap but it seems fine for now

I have a low mileage PD 150 turbo for sale if you are interested :) Just PM me

vRS clutch does not fit - Its bigger due to 6 speed box, so you would be much more advised to go and find an uprated one in your 5 speed size from the likes of Jabba / Awesome GTI. :)

Well my 100PD is mapped to 141BHP , she has just clocked 200,000 miles , and she is still on the OEM clutch

These 5 speed boxes are superb

But if I was doing the clutch on mine , I would do the ECS clutch kit http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=10682&xSec=147

That one

I would do the heavier flywheel though , that will give less rattles too

Mine is not decatted either

Do you have the PD160 intake?

Jason - I think you might be being a bit economical with the truth there... yours WAS a PD100 but I'm not sure there's much of the original left...

Hi mate,

I have the PD150 inlet Manifold as well, I will PM you a price.

I believe they should both fit on no probs, not sure if any adjustments would have to be made, Jason would be able to give some insight :)

sooo, on reading all this info, i think im going to definately start off with:

  • pd160 trumpet and pipe
  • green cotton filter

this along with the remap i already have should be quite a nice improvement to my otherwise standard skoda pd100 :)

i just then need to decide what my next step would be :S decisions must be made :p

thanks for input so far guys, really appreciate it :)

anybody got any of the above going cheap?? filter obv not so much, wouldnt mind getting it new tbh

EDIT: unfortunately i now need a new door though, passenger side rear, in silver if anyones got one? bare or with electric window fitted? some "very bad man" had made a right mess of mine and buggered off, no details or note or anything! people nowadays ey?

ive dropped you an email now mate :) cheers

Brake pads.. put some decent ones on there.

I'm looking to go down a similar route to you, once the damn thing comes back from the garage... Good luck though mate, will be interested to see how you get on B)

Definitely. Also, if you can get hold of a set of vRS front hub assemblies, you can fit the 312mm brakes from a TT. I have uprated discs and pads on my PD100, still at the 256mm size, which, although an improvement, could still be better. Trust me, it's a slippery (and expensive!) slope, this PD100 modding business :p

tell me about it! moneys always an issue.

i was wondering what i would need in order to upgrade my brakes to either 280 or 312 :) so i guess you just helped me out there lol, well, judging the 312's fit inside my 16" a3 wheels lol

what you had done to yours so far? incase you spark any ideas in my mind :)

EDIT: forgot to mention, i was planning on putting Mintex race pads in there already, then some D/V/G discs to boot :)

Sorry for the late, late reply! Forgot about this.

My car, so far, has had this:

P-Torque remap (now lost as replacement ECU was fitted, not as a result of the remap though).

PD160 intake and K&N panel filter.

Koni FSD dampers and Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Fantastic upgrade, but I may fit coilovers soon as the ride height is still a touch high for me.

Mintex M1144 (I think) pads and Nitrac grooved discs.

Jabba rear anti-roll bar (RARB).

Seat Leon Cupra R front splitter.

vRS rear bumper, pikey-modded to accept standard fabia mudflaps :giggle:

Genuine Skoda sports rear spoiler.

Colour-coded door handles.

Miltek de-cat, with Blueflame stainless system sleeved on from there.

Seat MOMO strut brace.

17x8'' Evolo alloy wheelswith 205/40/17 Falkens.

iPod connector.

Genuine Skoda in-dash popout cupholder :D

Milotec mesh front grilles (bonnet and front bumper inserts).

The car isn't finished yet and has some bits to be changed, plus more to come ;) And to help you visualise that list...
