Insurance question.

Hello all,

I'm a little stumped. I'm a university student who is on work placement within the IT sector. I'm still a student but at the same time I will be doing business miles as/when needs be.

In simple terms - What on earth do I say on my insurance?

Many thanks,

Erm I reckon you should just go for IT -job position-, surely it would be cheaper than claiming student and technically its not lying or fraud.

Just tell them you are a student and you use the car to get to your place of learning which isn't lieing as when you go to work you are learning new skills.

if you are on a work placement and need to use your car to go out and about for the employer, then you must add business use to your policy. Dont panic its not as bad as it sounds, it added very little to my policy. Without it, any kit in the car will not be covered if stolen or even damaged in an accident. You may even find your insurance invalid in the latter of those 2 cases.

I agree with Mannyo. Limited business use, by the policyholder in person, added nothing to my insurance premium.
