Dead Turbo on Occy VRS

Featured Replies

I have been told that mine has been replaced today to sort out my problem. So now it has had a new MAF sensor, 4 new coil packs and a Turbo! What could have caused the Turbo to go with only 15K miles on it?

It is never thrashed from cold (well not since i have had it 2K miles) and has been serviced at 10K and 14K. I am just glad of the warranty as i bet that lot would have been a pretty penny! And i am not even sure it is cured yet as it was locked in the workshop tonight so i am awaiting a phone call in the morning to let me know the score.

Woo hoo, blown turbo time to get a bigger one..........Oh they replaced it, bummer.

Yeah i thought it would be a bit cheeky to ask for a K04 ;) seriously though i really doubt that the MAF, coils and Turbo were all faulty. Surely it would have ran really badly if they were all gone and all 3 wouldn't go at once surely??

Sounds like the old replace 1 bit at a time cos we haven't got a clue trick :D

drop him a tenner for the old turbo ,sell it an ibiza cupra owner ;)

Sorted!! :D although the N/s electric mirror motor was on all the time lol, so it's been disconnected! Off back in on Wednesday to fix that.

Was it Barkers of Grimsby by any chance?

Indeed it was mate.

I've had no end of **** with em!

Oh dear, well to be honest they have done a good job of sorting mine out (Lasted 30 miles up to now ;) ) glad it was under warranty though! As soon as the warranty is up i wont be using them to service it.

And thats another thing, always haggle the service price with them, I've not paid their book price yet for either a 10k or 20k service, they even forgot to fill my service book in once, also told me that 40k was about right for my clutch to pack up!

barkers of hull aint any better either, had mine in there about a dozen times to try and cure my boost problem and they didnt have a clue, got fed up of wasting my time so i took it to pulleyns at york and they fixed it first time

Were there any unusual sounds, or excessive oil smoke from the exhaust, which might have indicated turbo failure?

It had a sort of tinny rattle which sounded like the exhaust, this only happened on start up and cleared after a few minutes. No smoke or anything else.

I bought a vrs Fabia from Barkers of Grimsby 4 weeks ago costing over

Barkers of Grimsby are listed on skoda UK's website?

So it would seem someone is mistaken?

YES ffelan you are mistaken!!!!! NOT ME!!!!!!!!

My post is not factually incorrect ...........

As I stated earlier SKODA UK informed me that Barkers are not an Approved SKODA USED DEALER and do not comply with their terms and conditions...The SALES MANAGER at Barkers also told me this as well and that is why I am not happy with the way they treated myself and my partner ,and as I stated they have refused to sort out the problems I have with the car which I will not disclose on this forum as I intend to legally challenge the dealer as they Mislead people by advertising as AN APPROVED USED DEALER on Skoda Uk website when this is untrue........PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SPEAK TO MR SMART AT SKODA UK CUSTOMER SERVICES WHO I SPOKE TO WHO INFORMED ABOUT BARKERS POSITION REF TERMS AND CONDITIONS..THEN FEEL FREE TO CALL ME A LIER!!!!!

FFELAN HAVE YOU ACTUALLY USED BARKERS YOURSELF? OR ARE YOU AN EMPLOYEE?

I saved for a long time to buy this car and looked around for a year before I bought it so have every right to be dissapointed in Barkers as a dealership also other people on the forums are complaining about them please look for yourself.....

ANOTHER PERSON COMPLAINED ON HERE SAYING BARKERS DONT EVEN KNOW THE CORRECT OIL TO USE IN A FABIA vRS and they are spposed to be skoda experts!!!!

They havent even given me the Key codes or the radio codes and I have requested these several times!!!!!!!!!!
