How long does fabiavrs take to warm up

Featured Replies

I drive mine to work everyday and after about 15 mins the temp gauge is still not showing signs of moving, Then after about 20 mins it starts to climb up to normal temp. Is this just the normal for a diesel?

It is normal for a diesel due to it being more thermal efficent meaning less engery is wasted by heat.

There is a thread running about this elsewhere, quite a 'hot' subject.

Its normal for a diesel :)

mine takes almost 10 miles to warm up.. mostly light motorway cruising

mine takes almost 10 miles to warm up.. mostly light motorway cruising

Is that cruising at the speed of light ;)

my focus was only 3 or 64 miles my fabia takes an easy 10 miles

3 miles in mine. It will take 10 miles if you dont rev it more than 1500 rpm ;)

4 or 5 miles in mine and its warmed up fine, whatever the driving style. :)

Just over a mile in mine before luke-warm air comes through and then another mile and it's piping hot :D

Thanks, I live on the top of a hill so the first 4 miles are all down hill, nothing to worry about then.

Just that my Polo warmed up a lot faster, but then it went a lot slower! :D

Strangely enough it seems I might have spoken too soon.... normally its pretty quick but this morning it took nearly ten miles of motorway driving before it hit the 90 mark... very surprised about that!

Added some Radiator relief as recommended by Andy Ellis on another thread on the same subject.Car used to take 6 miles to get to 90 degrees now it takes 4.5/5miles.Not sure if it's worth 28 quid though, although heater seems to get a lot warmer.
