Octavia vRS -CR TDI

Driving out yesterday the bong sounded and the Engine Fault - Workshop message came up. I pulled back into the drive and even after several restarts it still bonged!

Rung Skoda Assist and they had no actual Skoda Techs available. RAC are useless as they can only do basic Vagcom checks on this newer engine??

Anywho, the guy arrived this morning as arranged and it has to go to Skoda. They have no courtesy cars so I'm using the rental car option. Let's see how that goes!

Engine Fault - Workshop comes on.

No engine/ECU lights on.

Engine appears to drive normally.

Currently waiting for the rental guys to ring me! Need to get to work soon. So far it's being 35 mins since the Skoda guy left.

random sensor gremlin?

Recovery guy left at 8:45. I had the rental car by 10:30 which I didn't think was too bad

No reports from the dealer yet.

Dealer will say, oh yes that's going to be expensive, no we have never seen it before and hand over the cash?

Please note I'm totally guessing here and making it up on the spot.

Picking the car up at the end of today.

Apparently it was a faulty throttle body! Replaced under warranty of course.

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue with the CR TDI but it was sorted pretty quickly by Simpsons Skoda in Colne.

OK, apparently not just that then as I rung them for an update and they will probably need another part so it'll be tomorrow now.

No idea on what the part isat the mo though.

Well I picked the car up today and 10 minutes later it started misfiring! The intial fault was a faulty EGR valve that leaked oil onto the throttle body, which caused that to malfunction. Thats now sorted.

So not well done Simpsons Skoda!

There's no way I'm doing another hour round trip the day after I've just picked it up.
