De Badging

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've been considering removing the "Octavia" and "vRS" badges from the back of my car to make it into a bit of a sleeper :giggle:

Anyone done this?

Also peoples thoughts and opinions!

Thanks!

I am a fan of de-badged rears so I say go for it :D

You can use some hot/warm water and fishing wire... or dental floss but this tends to break fairly often!! (tried it before!!)

But at the end of the day it is up to you :)

Mike

Not an Octavia but a chap that bought a Superb 3.6 V6 off me had me debadge it and it looked a lot nicer without all the shiney bits on there.

I'd say go for it.

Thanks guys :)

I have a general habit of making a pigs ear of things so I may get a family friend who owns a body shop to do it for me!

Aye debadge ftw

I used a hairdrier and an old plasic blockbuster card (any card will do)

Works a charm

virs badge is off to now though :D

Aaaaah brings back memories of my old Fabia :D

Looks smart as a dart that car mate

Did you just use T-cut or similar to get the residue off afterwards?

took the 'ocatavia' off mine but left the 'vRS' - the badge is subtle and easy to clean around

i always debadge - prefer the clean look

don't need t cut... just soapy water or maybe some solvent if needed

my octavia badge was off on the day i got the car - took 10 seconds with some dental floss - just use a "sawing" motion - dead easy..

Dental floss - sawing action behind all letters - then i used my fingers to pick off the black sticky stuff and then some AG super resin polish. I would imagine Autosmart Tardis Tar Remover, white spirit or lighter fluid would also be good.

T cut would not be needed as the paint is okay underneath, you dont want to take away layers of lacquer/paint.

thats a job for me on day 1 , just keeping the VRS badge.

that Fabia looks great, nice vid

Here is mine. I think it looks better without the badges :)

Looks terrible without the Skoda badges IMO. Removing the Octavia / vRS badge is fine, but the Skoda badges is a step way to far.

Think I will be doing this over the weekend!

go for it :D think it looks alot "tidier" without the the octy and vrs badges

I lost the Octavia badge & kept the vRS one. Very pleased with the look now.

Leave the Skoda badges!

Dunc.

My badges stay on....naked ass on cars looks awful...

I have the same set up on my car and like the look, the VRS badge is small and subtle enough that it's worth leaving on:
