Be carefull of the seats, saw one in the dealers at the weekend and the drivers bolster had been caught and there was a nasty pull/rip in the fabric. Whilst I did quite like the car in the flesh and the seats seemed very comfy, this 'knitted/bobbly' effect fabric was a nono for me especially having dogs, would have to have covers on

Thanks Andy

The fabric isnt too dissimilar to the Sport we have already TBH

Can't decide on weather i'm going to order one yet, test drove one on the launch, but i can't seem to get over the way it feels cheaper than my last fabia vrs(se) i like the drive but i don't like the car if that makes any sense?

It was the test drive that made me get one, I was looking at the polo gti at first but with the options i wanted it was stupid money, saved over £3000 getting a fabia vRS.

I agree that it is a little cheap looking inside, the polo gti is better but not £3000 better and the same performance.

I'm also looking at the golf gti, but i really don't know if i want to spend that much!!!!!!!

Ideally i would like to stick with skoda, but i didn't like the mk2 octavia i had and i am not that keen on the way the new fabia vrs looks, but it might be a grower

Yes, that makes sense to me. My last two Fabias have felt more substantial, quieter, more comfortable and handled better than the equivalent Mk.2. I chose not to test drive a VRS because no amount of driving pleasure would have overcome that 'cheap' impression that you mention.

Also had this concern, hence why my wife switched to a current shape Corsa :S as the Fabia II just wasn't as good as her excellent Fabia I which unfortunatly got side swiped by a Scooby. We think however the FL has addressed a number of the failings of the pre FL, enough to encourage us back and order an Elegance spec. Been nice though if they had done something with those flimsy 'ring pull' internal door handles mind :(

Did consider the Ibiza as we think it looks quite smart externally but it's interior also lets it down and they have yet to replace the 1.4 petrol with the TSI (85). Oh and the one dealer we went to make enquiries at didn't seem interested in selling cars :wonder:

Update:

Build week is 39

Just telephoned the dealer to get an update on my new vRS.

Story so far....

Ordered 29th July 2010 with an end of October delivery date at the latest.

Build week 37 a possibility, and will receive confirmation sometime next week! This is obviously a lot sooner than expected ,but judging by various threads on this site ,this cannot be relied upon. And to be fair, the salesman did say this too.

Well, here's hoping :)

P.S I forgot to ask at the time, but has anyone any idea of the timescale between a build date and actual delivery date?

Cheers

Bingo

Should collect mine on Sept 1st, they had one in the showroom local to me, in White with the Chrome / black wheels, and black roof! - Can't wait!

How's the car, any photos yet? :)

No.

Week 37 begins Sunday 12th September. Apparently, all weeks begin with a Sunday. So, if it's two weeks for delivery, definitely by the end of September. :)

Sounds like it. It can't come quick enough now :)

By the way, I changed my wheels from dark chrome back to standard alloys as I became unsure whether they did the car justice. I'm much happier with my choice now.

i know how you feel mate ,its like my deal said if there is one car ready to ship over they will wait until there is 1000 to move first so its pot luck i think .what did make you change your wheels i have seen the dark chrome in the flesh they have the nice black to go with the black roof and the bling to go with the front grille and when they are turning they look mint .we are like to children waiting for christmas morning :D
