fl vrs seat problem

Featured Replies

Did they do that off there own back or did you have to prompt them to ordering the parts in advance?

I copied parts of earlier post and e-mailed some time ago - also spoke to service manager in advance. That said they do look at this forum, so it may well not have been necessary.

How long did they have the car for? Did they order the parts first before starting the work?

The drivers side foam is apparently now on back order 2 weeks delivery.

Mine was 'repaired' with the original foam and looked worse than when it went in!!!

I can confirm a delay on one of these parts?

The car went in yesterday, dealer had recieved the parts but one was incorrect. After questioning Skoda to obtain the correct part they have been told them there is a 1/2 week delay.

Car has been returned with the seat the same, its not that bad but I guess it will just get worse without the repair.

I have recently booked my car back to have the drivers seat recovered after it was ripped whilst being refitted, also, the passenger seat bolster has collapsed again after only 6 weeks.

Had mine looked at a couple of weeks ago, just fitted back into place, lasted an hour if that. Dealer acknowledges problem new bolster and clips ordered back in on Friday for fitting, will update when done.

I would say to anybody with this issue, just take it back to the dealers and ask to sort, Skoda UK must accept by now that the new Vrs seats have issues with the bolster clips breaking.......

Mine is in on Monday so I will report how it all goes after I get it back.

In today and fitted, looks and feels ok for now and has lasted longer than an hour, time will tell.

No hassle from dealer on this one so as i have said before, any issues just take it back.........

Holy s*&t just looked at mine and that has gone i will be calling my local garage.

Well first attempt the car was in for 3 days but Skoda supplied the wrong part.

Second attempt, another 3 days and cover has been changed but not fitted correctly. biggest issue is that rear pocket is just hanging, seat cover does not feel clipped to the seat. They did say it was a ***** of a job.

All in all not a happy Skoda driver.......have missed out on 6 days of driving and now there be more :(

Have been back to the dealer and now more parts required and possibly seat to be sent to a trimmer..................another possible 3-5 days without the car. Apart from this abit still not 3K on the clock the car is great, love it.

Dealer just had second and more sucessful attempt at mine, it has lasted a week.

Apparently Skoda have now strenghthened the foam in the bolster by bracing two bits together.

Mine had new foam and new airbag.

Wait to see how long it lasts!

Looks like Skoda are going to get trimmers to do my seat.

Two weeks tomorrow and still no seat fitted back.

How can a simple re trim of a seat take so long. Why didn't Skoda UK just agree to swap it - 1 or 2 days then.

Long process but hopefully it will all be fine now.

My Passenger seat foam cushion has just been replaced again..... but it has to go back again to have a new leather cover, as it ripped like the driver side did when being re-assembled. At this rate my car will be seeing more leather than a bentley!!! :giggle:

who did u speak to mate? was it gordon the service manager??

If it was he is a tool. My passenger door handle collapsed inside the door and they said it wasn't warranty. it had been broken into. Pish and they know it. and i had to pay them £160 to get the job done. My warranty runs out in december and will be taking it too henry's in glasgow for the final check before warranty runs out.

Know it's not the same, but just triggered something from an earlier post on here: my L&K had an issue where the leather seat base started coming apart from where it's stitched to the alcantara and Parkview in Reading took one look at it and said it'd be fine under warranty and everyone was happy, so don't let them tell you that seats don't come under warranty and it's wear & tear, cos the bit that went on mine was the bit that is obviously most used,... and i'm 6'2" & 15 stone so it's hardly Bonnie Langford slipping in and out of it!

epic thread resurection.....

Had mine at henrys today there going to fix my seat car only covered 19000 mls . That guy at parks is a total **** .
