I've had the Signum 3.0 V6 CDTi for a week now, and I finally gave it a decent run yesterday, to Chelmsford and back. I've never really had much time with a modern diesel, apart from a quick drive in a workmate's company Golf GTD 150,and this is all a revelation to me. You can tell it's a diesel at tickover, but by 2500 revs, it just sounds like a V6. Performance is, er, "adequate". 0-60 in about 8.4, but diesels do it differently, don't they? Intead of screaming up to maximum revs, it's like being pulled towards the horizon by a big winch, while you change through the gears. I also can't get used to not needing to change down to get some power. From 70 in 6th (about 2K revs) it still pulls like an express train. And, even better, I filled up with diesel, and the computer now says "range 497 miles"
