Hi All!

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd say a quick 'Hello' and introduce myself :)

Found this forum today- just what I've been after! Can't seem to find much info on the vRS, especially the estate :(

I'm currently saving up for an Octavia vRS Estate (in Ebony Black), which I'll hopefully be getting in the summer :) The vRS ticks the box in every department for what my wife and I want in a new car- amazing value considering what the equivalent A4 or Passat would cost ;) Hopefully I'll be keeping the VR6 too- funds permitting!

I'll definately be modding the vRS. Think I'll pop on some sort of cold air intake, get a Milltek exhaust and a Jabba re-map. Possibly a nice shiny turbo pipe too :)

Any ideas what sort of performance figures I'd get with those mods- am guessing at around 225BHP, but what sort of torque, top speed and 0-60 could I expect?

Cheers

Andy

Welcome Andy.

Several estate owners on here. Performance will be around 225 with those mods, the jabba remap is very good. Especially when done as part of Adrian's group buys. Torque wise, figures vary and it depends on how much drivability vs power you want.

Hi

Welcome - Octy vRS estate is a good choice :)

(Another JaneC style welcome with no answers to questions :o sorry)

Thanks for the info, Manny.

No worries, Jane - thanks for saying hello!

Welcome to briskoda Andy

Hello and Welcome Andy,

sold my Corrado VR6 a couple of months, was a very hard thing to do i have to admit.

best handling car i've ever had and the best looking.

Welcome indeed.

welcome andy

from a vRS estate driver!

not modded but I can happily report that its done 43,000 miles since last xmas with only one minor problem that was sorted out under warranty (rear middle seatbelt locking)

I've been a high mileage driver for years and this is the best built can so far -and the most fun

Welcome!

Probably looking at the 220-ish region bhp, 230-250lb/ft torquey things, mid 6's 0-60, top speed no idea.....(all dependant on RR, prevailing conditions etc etc.)

Stick on a full turbo-back exhaust system, I think you'll better those figures.

Thanks guys. Was wondering if there was some sort of Skoda/vRS club?

WrightyRS, how does the Octavia compare to the VR6 performance-wise? Does it feel any quicker?

Welcome to briskoda Andy from one of the other Andys.

in standard trim the corrado felt alot quicker,as they say there is no substitute for cubic capacity,

after the re-map on mine and now i have the FMIC/Samco TIP/Full Exhaust it feels quicker than the VR6.but the VR6 was better as the low down torque from that lovely V6 takes alot of beating.

Welcome Andy :wave23d:

A fine choice even if I do say so myself :) If you're interested there's some piccies of mine in my gallery. Are you buying new or used? If the latter give me a shout nearer the time.

WrightyRS- yeh, the V6 is a wonderful engine, and the C is a fantastic car. We'll do our sums when the time comes- hopefully we can keep her- put her on a ltd mileage classic policy or something. We'll see!

Hi Andy, and hi Jimmy. We'll probably buy a 'nearly new' car with hopefully under 10k miles- why? Are you thinking of selling up?!

Always looking for something else - never happy but that's just me. This month it's an EVO8 next month it'll be something else :D

The vRS estate is a great bit of kit though. Done nearly 20k miles in mine 15k of which have been mapped and running with 18" wheels and no problems to report. The sensible head tells me to keep it forever but I get bored easily :( I need a weekend toy..... ;)

Know what you mean- that's why I'm gonna try and keep the VR6 as well!
