Guide: Fitting Seat Sport FMIC

Not to resurrect an old thread but... i need to resurrect it to ask a question!  :notme:

the part where you start trimming the black plastic cowling to fit the FMIC BEHIND it, is this the way it's always done? as far as i was aware the FMIC was mounted in-front of it?

can someone correct me if i'm wrong? the way i read it is that you did this through choice to make it look a little more stealth, am i correct? so this step could be missed out if not fussed about the stealth look but it would infact mean you'd probably have to do more chopping of the crash bar or put on a crash bar from an ibiza?

cheers, Fraser!

The 'cooler brackets attaches behind the radiator surround, so it must be cut to allow fitment.

Although I installed an Airtec kit, this is the same as the SS 'cooler. I offered the bracket up, along with the 'cooler and worked out what needed chopping out....

I had to mod my crash-bar a fair bit so to make sure that none of the pipes was resting on it. The concern was the eventually the rubber pipe connectors would eventually get a hole in them, causing a boost leak...

Cut the lip off the to and bottom, ground down and painted with Hamerite

...... and cut out a section more towards the middle of the 'bar to allow enough room for the top pipe out of the 'cooler
