Cant get Vrs right now, should i go for a stop gap??

Featured Replies

I been wanting a Fabia Vrs for nearly a year now.

I can now pretty much afford to buy and run one but think i should wait till im settled at work for a while first. My 306 Dturbo is getting old and annoying me more than ever, which is a lot as ive never really liked it!!

Question is......Do i just put up with the 306 and hope it keeps going or get a car inbetween, if so any suggestions for a sporty diesel?!

Cheers guys

Put up or by the Furby.

I was in the same boat and went for the Furby.

Had to wait for them to be launched though whilst previous car slowly got worse.

I agree. If you buy a 'stopgap' it will annoy you just as much because it isn't the car you really want, and you'll lose a heap of money in the process.

Yeah think im swaying that way, wouldnt be happy with anything else I dont think.

The waiting time still long if you want options?!

Thanks

Depends how long you have to wait, how much the pug will need spending on it to keep it on the road.

A half way house...buy a furby tdi 100bhp, if you like it take a trip to jabba...if you hate it then you haven't wasted a load of money on a vrs. If you really like it then buy a vrs when you can afford it. ;)

I'd get a Furby from tins.co.uk

If your job takes a turn for the worst you can always flog the car for roughly what you've paid for it...

Failing that, I'd say stick with the 306 - as much as you don't want to admit it, they are brilliant cars

Waiting for the Fabia will make the ownership all the more sweeter :)

Here is the answer...

I have a Toyota Corolla Gt 1600 16v twin cam 106k excellent mechanics

Body ok

Totally standard

Tested till Dec05

Goes like a rocket

Is quite rare now and in demand

40mpg -if you go steady

Toyota reliability/build quality

Fantastic seats

And you can sell on in the Spring/Summer for a profit

And the price.....

Wait for the Furby, and just put up with the Pug, if you think you are going to spend too much, then buy a car for 100- 200 quid till you get the furby delivered, & flog the cheap heap.

The furby WILL be worth the wait

Thanks for the replies guys

Think your right, best bet is to put up with it. Shame there are so few second hand vrs's about, I guess ill have to wait extra time and order one. Well I managed till now so a bit longer wont be too hard i guess! Probably start losing their value when i finally get one :( !!!!

If you hold on a bit longer, you can be the first on the list for the new WRC edition ....... if Autocar's predictions are correct ;):D
