How about mentioning how good your experience with the dealer will be mentioned to the people on this forum (if they even know about it) when you see them tomorrow....if they fix the Yeti.

Minger of a car needs to be taken away and melted down, some of them are just going to be more trouble than they are worth and that sounds a real smelly sock of a car !!!!!!! Get rid asap.

Sounds like a "Friday afternooner" to me YetiSP2. You should really be pushing for a replacement IMO.

Cripes, it'll be just my luck to drop on one like this :(

Just my luck too, have had 13 Alfas without a single breakdown and my only experience of VW was a shockingly unreliable Lupo, would be typical if my Yeti resembles a yellow pointy ended fruit :S

Yes lets hope that UK cars are not made on a Friday lol

Why would your Yeti be a banana???? :o

Your rights for rejecting a faulty new car are strongest during the first six months. I researched this topic at the start of this year when we came close to rejecting Mrs Shrub's little Smart Fortwo. There are a number of template rejection letters available online. I used one when I advised the dealer that we wanted to reject the car. Keep a record of all correspondence. If the dealer is unable to rectify a serious inherent fault after three attempts you have the Sale of Goods act on your side. Don't let this bad experience completely sour your view of the Yeti. If you go down the rejection route now you could be driving a well behaved Yeti like most of us very soon (if there are any available).

Incidentally, to any other Yeti folk out there who experience rattles and creaks, I recommend that you clean the groove in the top of the outer top rubber door seals. I have posted on another thread about this but I really can't emphasise enough the difference this makes. My car was groaning like an old ship and is now silent.

Credit would be given if it was due but I have had no contact from the dealer despite leaving four or five messages. The car was recovered there last night after it failed to start.

That's almost the advice I give people.... I have now negotiated with myself and agreed to take the case of sorting out the Yeti issues and the Skoda dealer on a pro bono basis!

There will not be a second Yeti, or even a second Skoda.

That's simply pi$$ poor mate.

I cannot believe you have not even received a phone call from anyone to give you a brief update about the Yeti.

It's probably a very late Tuesday afternoon car as all UK Yetis are built on a Tuesday - I can only guess they were short on parts and had a rummage around in the bins to finish your one

As depressing as it sounds, I don't think these faults will ever be rectified to your satisfaction. Keep rejection in mind and ensure everything is noted down and kept safe in a folder.

I genuinely hope they can fix your car for you but even if they do, will you ever be able to trust it 100%?

Could you inform us of your dealer name ?

I have noticed that "Old" Skoda dealers, ie those who had Skoda franchises even when people still laughed at Skodas; tend to have very good customer service; but a lot of the new people on the block have just the same crappy attitude that puts me off of Ford, Vauxhall, VW etc.

I think the real rot set in about 10 years ago, after the Fabia became such a good seller, and people started taking notice of Skoda.

I have agreed with Skoda UK not to do so.

I think you've been rumbled. There wasn't even a 'first' was there!
