Designed by Anne Summers or what.........................

Had a look at the New Fabia Vrs yesterday and why build a car that costs £16k plus and then fit the most horrible gear lever ever designed. Looks like it's out of a Anne Summers cataloge. I think it spoils the interior.

Why isn't the nice DSG lever fitted like in the octavia range.

That was one of my gripes when I test drove one. The last DSG box I used was in the V6 Superb and the gear knob on that is a big "executive car" style thing. The Fabia VRS one just looks like a plastic golfball

ooh, i'm going to test drive one today... i'll have a rant about the gearstick on your behalf

Thanks.... .....make sure it's a big rant, it really does spoil the look of the interior.

There's nothing wrong with the gearknob at all :) It's the same one used in the Seat Cupras.

Fitting the big "executive" one from the Superb would look incredibly out of place IMHO.

It only takes one AAA battery, instead of 2 D cell batteries required in the Octavia ;)

i want one like this for my pickup.....

but i can't find one anywhere

I imagine the Octavia DSG selector will fit onto the Fabia vRS as I would have thought the fixing would be universal throughout the range. There isn't much point in ranting at the salesperson about how it lets the interior down, we don't build the cars. If you do rant about it finish with something positive about the car otherwise you'll just be shooting yourself in the foot especially if you decide you want one after the test drive!

Whats wrong with my knob?

Fits my hand just fine.

Ok, may i ask one question?

Why are you moaning about a stick on the car which is only going to be used about 2 times per journey?

ITS AUTO! :giggle:

what? at that price?? :giggle: quite frankly, skoda are shooting themselves in the foot for asking £16k for it

Look at the steering wheel! :wonder: but that was bloody comfy to use......... you look at the road when you drive?

Make sure it's the left foot, then.
