Stupidist thing I've done in years!

Featured Replies

Hi all.

just a bit of advice needed, please.

This morning, after being up all night looking after our poor moggy, I went out in our Fabia TDi and filled it up with unleaded. Can you believe it!!! First time in 40 years of motoring. Just a question or two, will this mess up the injectors or anything else after it's been drained? And should I look out for anything once it is running again.

Cheers

Darfash

Did you drive it? If not, just drain the fuel out and replace the fuel filter. It'll be fine :)

PDs are normally ok, its really only the CRs that really get screwed by petrol.

Drain it out, new filter and it should be fine.

Hi

Yes, it was driven for 1 mile before it cut out!! It's a 2001 Fabia 1.9 TDI, is this a CR? Sorry for my ignorance.

PD I belive.

I done same in my vrs, drove for a good few miles before it died. Just put new filter in, drained it, and off I went. Ran fine.

None of the Mk 1 Fabias have Common Rail (CR), they use Pump Duse (PD). It is only in the last few years that Skoda (and VAG) have changed to use Common Rail. I think it's only the latest Fabias 2 (Facelifts) that use CR.
