planning doing a couple of things to my recently bought fabia vrs. can anybody recommend me a full exhaust system, and what sort of price i will be looking at. i was also thinking about a universal fmic and if anybody else has done it, is it recommended to just buy a pipe kit or is there anywhere that sells a specific fabia pipe kit. cheers coco

Have a search about mate, lots of info on both fronts. Exhaust gives you 3 or 4 main choices, ranging from £290ish (iirc) upwards.

As for fmic, you can get a universal one, will save you some money, as long as your willing to get the pipes made up, and do some measuring and adjusting to fit it. If you wanted it a bit more straight forward, a seat sport fmic and forge pipe work can be fitted, comes to around £490, but it's a decent front mount, and takes less work to fit, although it'll still need to chopping and adjusting.

Oh and the best bang for buck is a remap. £250 and gives you a nice 170-180bhp to play with!

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda

Miltek, Blue Flame and Jetex makes exhausts for Furby vRSs. However unlike other cars (eg Scoobies etc) you will get a bit less turbo lag, but not much more power.

As Matt says, the best performance increase is done by a Remap. If you decide to buy an exhaust and other mods, it's best to fit them before a Remap to get the most out of them.

Hardware before software. You should get hold of a PD160 intake and whatever exhaust and air filter setup you go for

before any sort of remap to get the best increases. And then the slippery slope begins... :D

As per my sig I'm using a Blueflame cat back and a K&N panel filter. I put these on after the remap...

(Which was already done when I bought the car BTW...) And am contemplating re-re-mapping it to

accomodate these mods I have done. Effectively doing the work twice...

I don't really mind though as I never paid for the map that is on there.

I've got a scorpion cat back and it sounds and looks great

ah thanks for the advice.. so is there no need for enlarged down pipe off the turbo?

I'm not sure what you mean, but you can replace the catalyst with a streight pipe (Decat). Being a diseasel you don't need it for an MOT.

There people running 200bhp + on a standard exhaust system.

+ one for the scorpion.

Milltec here straight through.

One tail pipe fell off so I made some of my own and put some slightly angled down tips out of 2.5" pipe like the standard Audi a4 2.0tdi tips.

I did have a big oval but it looked nasty and too many people have got those
