Scout & vRS in one car?

Featured Replies

Perversely I love it! Which dealer has is it at?

170 PD is lumpy below 2000 rpm (at least in my A4) so may need a tweak to improve it whereas taking the 140PD in the Scout up to 170 with a similar tweak could well be the icing on the cake.

DM Keith in York.

It's on the used car search on Seat's website.

Due to it been on the forecourt for as long as I remember I reckon you could negotiate a nice discount!

I've never seen anything newer than an 09 so I reckon this must have been one of the last...

The hunt for one with xenons continues!

This one's been on the forecourt of my local Skoda/Seat dealer for well over a year now.

Starting to feel sorry for it

Was £15,999, now its £13,495.

Still out of my price range but the wife is adament, we ain't having a yellow car!!

TONKA!

Or off-road AA van. My god that's a seriously ugly car! It does make you wonder if Skoda will ever put the CR170 engine in the Scout though...

I recon each one has its own tastes but for me SEAT cars are UGGLLLLYYYY. Also the interiors are usually much cheaper looking.

This does not mean they are bad, not at all, actually they are at the same level as the rest of the group, but their looks kill all their good bits.

Today the only one which is worth looking at is the EXEO. The rest is :sick::sick:.

If you can live with its looks Im pretty sure you will find a very good car under it.

Can someone confirm if the new Scout has the Cr170 or Cr140?

CRD 140 (I'm afraid). I asked Skoda customer services back in April, and they said the 170 is not planned for the Scout.

nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been getting excited especially at the price for a new scout on Drive the deal.

Oh well, I guess the nearest thing for boot space & the haldex is the Superb 4x4.

Just that rear end...... :-/

thanks Les

One of my nearish neighbours has got a new Superb estate and it looks the business in the flesh - I would be very tempted by a 170 4x4 if I hadn't ordered a Scout. The boot is just huge, and the design is a great improvement on the twindoor to my eyes.

It is just me, or are the lights on the back of that thing incredibly depressed? I think that every time one of these go past me. Like a pair of depressed eyebrows, they are.

Had a look at a silver 57 reg Altea Freetack-4 the other day , had only 4000 miles on the clock , ex demonstrator @ Jennings Seat in Middlesbrough had it up for £13995

The website reckons only 1,225 miles, even at 4,000 miles it seems very low for a car registered in September 2007.

What have they been doing with it for three years!? Clearly not many test drives

At least Seat had the common sense to design some mud flaps to fit the Freetrack, unlike Skoda with the vRS and Scout!

Alas, another one without xenons :'(

Still, a hell of a lot of car for £14K,

It sort of out Skoda's a Skoda... VW platform, looks OK, performs OK, practical enough, but is even cheaper to buy!

Annoyingly this car, despite being at a franchised Seat dealer does not appear on the official Seat used car search facility.

Hence unless you knew it was there you'd never know it was available

Exactly,

A slightly newer (08) Scout with less spec and higher mileage is currently on Skoda's website for £16K, if you can live with the looks £2,000 is a big saving...

This is it:

Identical to my car minus the xenons. I paid only £14K for mine over a year ago with less mileage on, Skoda prices are on the up!

Hence the reason the Seat Altea Freetrack caught my eye.

FWIW, the boot on the Altea XL is 80cm deep at the floor and 60cm deep at the top of the rear seats - WITH THE REAR SEATS FORWARD. Octy hatch and estate are both 100cm and 80cm in those positions, so considerably bigger. Golf estate, A4 Avant and Exeo ST are similar sizes to the Octy, but for us it's the difference between Ap0gee Jr's buggy fitting lengthways with plenty of space for stuff alongside, and fitting widthways with only space for stuff behind it.

Shame really, as there are some nearly-new (2WD) ones up our way for next-to-nothing...

When i had a look at the freetrack it definatly has 4000 on the trip computer , i spoke to the sales manager and its an ex Jennings demo car , the car itsself is in A1 condition no chips / dents / scuffs really good condition & had the rear lcd monitor / aircraft style trays for the rear seat passengers . . . just that SWMBO didnt like it :dull:

Needed a good hoover out too lol
