Is My Heater Faulty?

Featured Replies

My gorgeous new Furby vRS is fantastic. I have done 800 miles in two weeks and only have to niggles. The heater settings. Despite freezing temp outside if I have the heater control one notch up from off it is red hot air that comes out. I'm wondering if this is a common fault as it appears to be all full on hot air or cold air?? If its a fault any thoughts on what it might be?

The second niggle that I can live with is a rattle around the passenger airvent / dashboard

Ooh, another one - see this thread:-

It's a faulty heater control unit - there must be a dodgy batch in circulation in Fabia's. I got mine replaced under warranty. It also had the side effect of steaming up my windscreen. Get your dealer to test the control unit with their computer/VAG-COM. They'll probably turn around and say.. "erm, yep - needs a new one!"..

As for rattles, there's lots of them in the Fabia. Generally loosening all the dashboard assembly, letting it settle and then screwing it all back together usually does the trick - for a while.

Regards,

The heater settings.
Yes, I get problems also.

I had a rattle from the dashboard and the dealer new what it was just from my description! A bracket can sometimes shear off. It takes a while to replace.
