WAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! My car has finally made it to our shores, i was informed by the dealer this morning that my car finally arrived on the tyne this weekend. I might even get it on Friday if not hopefully saturday.

PS Just checked and that's 19 weeks ago tomorrow......gonna email Skoda and ask for some 'late delivery compensation'.........

Ordered by dealer 14th April, tagged for me 17th May, built 2nd August, got to Emden 8th August finally made it to UK 30th August stll to arrive at dealer. Black Magic Pearl Octavia vRS Hatch CR TDi.

I agree although the factory does shut for 3 weeks over summer I believe and then they've had the flood to contend with.

I'm hoping that if I order soon, when I've decided what I'm getting, I won't have to wait so long.

It arrived at the dealers at 4.00pm today, just needs to be PDI'd, fit rear parking sensors, set both fog lights to on and anti-hijack door locking to on. Might even have it by Friday but probably by Saturday. Can anyone else think of things to get the dealer to set via Vagcom/vcds as i didnt order maxidot cos it was already pre-ordered for the dealer then tagged for me.

Billyt1903 , make sure they have the alarm chirp activated (bleeps when u lock it) aswell as the anti hijack door lock function (doors lock when u pull away)

l,ll keep a look out in Redcar at the weekend for u look out for a white 09 facelift vRS

i thought the vrs came with rear parking sensors as standard. it was only the fronts that were optioned?

In addition to anti-hijack and alarm chirp, get them to switch off the really annoying seatbelt warning gong when you first switch on the ignition, and maybe the one that chimes when you go over 10mph (or whatever it is) without the seatbelt on too.

My personal eagle is due to land at the dealers tomorrow afternoon!

Towbar to be fitted on Monday .... collection some time next week. I am allowed to visit it over the weekend!!!

It's been a long wait since May. Fortunately I love my current red vRS, but will still be nice to have the new one.

You can ask about the seatbelt chime, but they might not do it on 'safety grounds'. Just a feeling I have, unless others have had this disabled at the dealers?

But yes, it is annoying - especially as it starts chiming before you've even started moving :wonder:

WAHOOOO !!!!!! I have seen it and touched it, almost kissed it :lol: Collecting tomorrow, getting fog light, anti hijack and alarm beeps set up. Not bothered about seatbelt bong will just fasten seatbelt before starting car, will keep me legal too.
